DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO (DRC)

- Solidaritépour la promotion sociale et la paix (SOPROP)

Dans lecadre du 26 juin 2012, SOPROP va procéder à l'ouverture officielle d'un Centred'Assistance et Réhabilitation des Victimes de la Torture à Masina(CMARVT/Masina). Masina est le quartier le plus peuple de la Ville de Kinshasaqui compte aujourd'hui plus de 10 millions d'habitants. Ce quartier situé dansla partie Ouest de la Ville de Kinshasa regroupe à lui seul environ 10% de lapopulation totale de la ville. Al'occasion, SOPROP compte sensibiliser davantage les autorités sur lesconséquences de la torture et l'urgence de prendre des mesures pour y mettrefin. Les activités suivantes sont prévues lors de l'ouverture: Unetroupe de théâtre qui va présenter une scénette sur les violences quiaccompagnent les arrestations en RDC et les actes de torture dans les maisonsdes détentions; Unefanfare musicale; Destémoignages des survivants de la torture; Des discoursdes officiels (ministre de Justice et droits humains, Ministre du gerne, femmeet enfants, Bourgmestre de la commune); Lediscours du directeur Général de la SOPROP; L'ouverture officielle duCentre (coupure du Riban).

- Odhikar

On 26 June,Odhikar is going to organise a Tribunal against Torture in the morning and a roundtablemeeting in the afternoon, in Dhaka. Human rights defenders of Odhikar, who are working atthe grass root level, will submit memorandums to the relevant authorities in 25districts and also organise rallies with placards and banners in thosedistricts. Odhikar will circulate the slogans to their network that “Nothing can justifytorture and ill-treatment under any circumstances” and “Victims oftorture have the right to an effective remedy and reparation”.

- Banglar Manabadhikar Suraksha Mancha (MASUM)

MASUM will organise a two days residential course, from 23-24 June, in Kolkata (West Bengal) on ‘Torture in Law and Fact Finding Procedure’ to capacitate activists andenhance their acumen on addressing torture incidents and subsequent respite forthe survivors. MASUM has invited activists from civil society partners andstudents from law colleges and human rights stream. MASUM wants to raise thenumbers of capacitated activists who can intimate on incidents of tortureand further can do fact findings on these incidents. - Bound and Gagged StreetAction The PublicCommittee against Torture in Israel invites you to participate inaction for the international day in solidarity with victims of torture. Theperformative action organized by the committee and other activists is designedto raise awareness to torture committed in Israel and globally.

The actionwill take place on Tuesday, 26.6.2012 at the Mamila hotel in Jerusalem. Meetup at 5:30p at Jaffa Gate,where we divide ourselves into smaller working groups.The actionentails several performances (e.g. bound and blindfolded 'prisoners'),representing the harsh reality of torture. These performances will be spreadout along the street, designed to remind passersby that many people are stillsubjected to torture and other forms of abuse by state authorities.

TURKEY

Les activités du 26 juin prendront plusieurs formes avec comme slogan pour 2012: "TOUTES LES FORMES DE VIOLENCE SONT UN CRIME CONTRE L'HUMANITÉ - NON À LA VIOLENCE "

Le 24 juin, SOHRAM_ CASRA a organisé une sortie avec pique-nique traditionnel pour les victimes de la torture, les familles et lespersonnes qui participeront au pique-nique, pendant un jour afin d'oublier la torture. Le pique-nique aura lieu dans la municipalité de Yenisehir, de 7h00 à environ 18h00. Le programme du pique-nique inlcus des représentations musicales ( Turc, Kurde, Arabe, Syriaque, Arménie, Turkmène etLaz.), des concours, des jeux, des spectacles de dansefolklorique (Kurde, Turc), un déjeuner et des discussions.

Le matin du 25 juin, les enfants vontfaire s'envoler des cerf-volant pour protester contre la torture.

L'après-mididu 25 juin, une réunion d'information sera organisée dans le centre sur le but et l'importance de la journée contre la torture. La réunionsera ouverte au public. M. YavuzBinbay, Président du centre et avocat bénévole au centre parlera 1) Des règles juridiques de la détention en Turquie, 2) Desdroits juridiques des détenus et 3) Comment on peut se protéger contre la torture et de la violence. Le 26 juin, le service de psychothérapie de SOHRAM-CASRA organisera deux séminaires sous le thème « Dans des conditions de guerre et de terreur des droits des femmes et des droits de l'enfant » et « Les règles juridiques de la détention en Turquie et les droits juridiques des détenus ». Les séminaires auront eu lieu dans une salle du centre et seront ouverts au public.

Le soir de 26 juin, SOHRAM CASRA organisera un cocktail comme chaque année pour les victimes de torture etleurs proches. Le cocktail est ouvert pour les gens et les représentants desorganisations qui voudront être solidaires avec les victimes et qui sont sensibles à cesujet.
