Celebrating 60 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The 2008 “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence” Campaign dedicates this year’s theme to the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the recognition that human rights cannot be universal without human rights for women. 2008 also marks the 15th anniversary of the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women and the Vienna Declaration (see Background).
