In 2000, the OMCT and the members of its SOS-Torture Network achieved concrete victories, even as human rights violations continued to increase.

The highlights of this Annual Report shine the spotlight on human rights defenders in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the challenges of freedom of association in Morocco, OMCT's efforts to avoid a showdown in Turkish prisons and the Special session of the Commission on Human Rights devoted to Israel and Palestine.
