Areas of Work
The Movement of Women and Girls for Peace and Security in Burundi (Mouvement des femmes et filles pour la paix et la sécurité - MFFPS) was established in 2015 by a group of Burundian women’s rights defenders as the country slipped into violence following the contested presidential candidacy of Pierre Nkurunziza. At a time when widespread serious violations are still committed, including torture and sexual violence, MFFPS members help survivors of sexual violence and support them in their fight for justice.
