Areas of Work
The Network of Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) is a coalition of Chinese and international human rights non-governmental organizations. CHRD’s work focuses on strengthening the capacity of and supporting local Chinese civil society to prevent torture, assist victims, and hold perpetrators accountable. CHRD also supports efforts to provide psychological and social support, raises public awareness about torture, provides emergency humanitarian aid grants, and improves access to justice for persecuted human rights defenders and victims of torture through legal aid grants.
